Your first 30 minutes
This tutorial takes you from an empty workspace to a live, conversational campaign on your public brand page — in one sitting. You’ll need a SparkleTree account and a website to import from. If you’d rather set up piece by piece, use the setup guide instead; this is the same ground at a faster pace.
1. Import your brand
Section titled “1. Import your brand”-
Open Dashboard → Brand. You start on the Brandbook tab.
-
Use Start from your website and paste your website URL.
-
SparkleTree derives your colors, logo, tagline, and voice into a draft. Check the live preview, adjust if something looks off, then click Publish to publish. (Admins only — if the button isn’t yours to press, ask your workspace admin.)
Your brand identity now flows into everything you make next: campaigns pick up your colors and voice automatically.
2. Create a product
Section titled “2. Create a product”Campaigns promote products, so add one.
-
Go to Dashboard → Products and create a new product.
-
Paste the product’s URL. SparkleTree analyzes the page and pulls in the details.
-
Review what it found and save.
Note: If you create a product manually instead, you can save it as a draft without an image — but an image is required to activate it.
3. Create a campaign in the composer
Section titled “3. Create a campaign in the composer”-
Go to Dashboard → Campaigns and start a new campaign. You get a single composer box — the placeholder reads “Describe what you want to make happen — or paste a product link or photo…”. Everything starts here: a typed goal, a pasted product link, or an attached product photo.
-
Describe your goal in plain words. Something like: “Get more weekend bookings for our tasting menu.”
-
Type / to reference your product. A dropdown shows your catalog — pick the product you just created. It appears in your text as a highlighted token.
-
Click Generate. While SparkleTree parses your goal, the button reads “Reading your brief…”.
-
A preview of the parsed brief appears: a confidence badge, the detected Objective (for example, “increase sales”), and the products it recognized. If you want to look closer before committing, click Review brief first.
-
The primary button now reads Generate Campaign (1 product). Click it. While it runs, it reads “Generating Campaign…”.
You’re redirected to the campaign’s detail page, where a progress wheel shows generation happening and a one-line banner welcomes you when it lands.
4. Meet your Squid
Section titled “4. Meet your Squid”You’ve landed on the campaign detail view — a flip card. The front is the stage: a live preview of your creative. The back holds settings. Along the header are icon buttons; hover to see each one’s label.
What you’re looking at on the front is your Squid — your campaign’s living, conversational ad. It greets, talks, and adapts. Its parts:
- A kicker — the greeting line
- A headline and body — the pitch
- A CTA pill — the button that opens the conversation
- Chips — suggested questions a visitor can tap
Behind those chips is a real conversation: visitors ask questions and the Squid answers, grounded in your product and brand. It also adapts to context — weather, location, time of day — so different visitors meet different openings.
5. Make one edit in Shaping mode
Section titled “5. Make one edit in Shaping mode”-
Click Edit creative (the pencil icon) in the header.
-
In the preview toolbar, notice the two-position toggle: Shaping and Rehearsing. Shaping means your clicks edit; Rehearsing means the preview behaves exactly as it will for a visitor — use it to try the chat yourself.
-
In Shaping, click the headline and type your change directly into the live preview. Press Enter or click away to commit; press Escape to revert. A quiet autosave note confirms each save.
-
While you’re here: chips can be rewritten, reordered by drag, added, or removed — up to six.
-
Click Done editing when you’re happy.
Every save republishes your surfaces, so edits reach live placements without a separate publish step.
6. Glance at Configure
Section titled “6. Glance at Configure”Click Configure (the sliders icon) to flip the card. Three things worth knowing on day one:
- Variant selection: the default is Adaptive CVG — SparkleTree learns which variant performs and shows winners more often. The alternative is a fixed-timer rotation (“Cycle every N sec”).
- Language: English, local language by context, or a specific language.
- Soundtrack: optional background audio for this campaign’s Squid, with a rights confirmation required before saving.
Leave the defaults for now. Click Preview to flip back.
7. Publish it
Section titled “7. Publish it”Click Share & publish (the send icon). A panel opens where you choose where this campaign reaches. Publish it to your brand page.
8. See it live
Section titled “8. See it live”Open your brand page — yourname.sparkletree.io, or your own domain if you’ve connected one. Your brand home lists live campaigns, and your new campaign has its own page. Visit it as a stranger would: the Squid greets you, the chips invite a question. Tap one.
That page is also readable by AI assistants out of the box — your brand host serves the machine-readable surfaces that let them find and answer questions about you. More on that in Publishing your brand.
9. Check Analytics tomorrow
Section titled “9. Check Analytics tomorrow”Give it a day of traffic, then open Dashboard → Analytics. The two numbers to read first: Impressions is the raw delivery count, while Reach is the number of distinct sessions that actually saw the campaign — Reach is the honest crowd size. As data accumulates, Dashboard → CVG shows which variants are winning.
